March 2023 – In an era where international collaboration is more vital than ever, a significant event has marked this year's calendar in the youth sports sector. The "Through Sport is Possible" (TSP) project officially got underway with an online kick-off meeting in March, markin

g a significant step in promoting sports as a tool for inclusion and development for at-risk youth.

This virtual meeting brought together key representatives from the project partners: ASD TKD Rosignano from Italy, Sportsroom from Bulgaria, and Clube Desportivo da Escola Secundária Miguel Torga from Portugal. The focus of the event was the development and definition of the next steps of the program, outlining a clear and structured path to achieve the set goals.

During the meeting, several key strategies were discussed, including:

  1. Promoting Youth Participation: The importance of encouraging young people to actively participate in sports was emphasized, not only as a means for physical improvement but also as a tool for social and personal development.

  2. Inclusion and Accessibility: Partners highlighted the need to make sports accessible to all, regardless of social, economic, or cultural background. This includes developing programs that are welcoming and adaptable to different needs.

  3. Training and Development for Youth Workers: The importance of continuous training for youth workers was recognized, in order to equip them with the necessary skills to address the specific challenges and dynamics of working with at-risk youth.

  4. Creating a Collaborative Network: Discussions included creating a strong network among the project partners for the exchange of best practices, experiences, and resources, thus strengthening the project's effectiveness at a transnational level.

  5. Planning of Concrete Events and Activities: Guidelines for organizing future events were established, including the first transnational meeting in Vada, Italy, scheduled for September 2023. This event will play a key role in advancing the discussions and strategies developed during the online meeting.

The success of the online kick-off has demonstrated the determination and commitment of the project partners in pursuing the goals of TSP. With such a positive start, there are high expectations for the impact the project can have on improving the opportunities and living conditions of at-risk youth through sports.

Maintaining the momentum created by this initial virtual meeting, the TSP partners are now more ready than ever to face future challenges and realize significant change in the lives of young Europeans. With a calendar of events and activities already planned, the future of the "Through Sport is Possible" project looks bright and full of potential.
